Q. When can I put my windows down?
A. After 48 hours min
Q. I have Bubbles and waves in my tint.
A. This is common, allow 30 days in summer and 60 days in winter for them to disappear.
Please don’t touch them if you do, they will go white and we can’t help you.
Q. Why are there smear marks on the inside of my windows?
A. When we put the tint on the windows, we remove 95% of the water and give the window a light wipe, we can’t get all of this residue off because the tint is fresh, and it could move. Allow 15 days drying time, then clean each window with a wet and then dry micro fibre cloth.
Q. Why are there water lines down the side of my car?
A. When we place the tint on your car to draw the shape of the window, we use soapy water to hold it in place, it does leave some lines but will wash of very easily. We do not wipe your car down just in case your car is dirty, and it might affect the paintwork.
Q. My baby seat was lying on the back seat.
A. Yes, we have to remove them sometimes to get a clear go at the back window or side windows. We place them down like that so you know we have taken them out and you can have peace of mind knowing you have put them back in correctly yourself.
Q. Some of my stuff has been moved in the back of the SUV.
A. Sometimes we move things out of your car so we can apply the tint without getting water on your belongings. Some cars we need to get in the back of your car to tint and we do not want to damage your possessions.
Q. Is stripping old tint off extra?
A. Yes, it is, it is a bigger job than putting tint on.
Q. Do you pull the doors apart to tint?
A. Only on the older cars, most of the new cars the rubbers pull out nicely. The older cars we try not to damage any of the clips, but because they are old and brittle some break or bend, we normally have some spares to replace them. Please tell us if you have had the car pulled apart before.
Q. I have little pin head bubbles can you fix them?
A. Sometimes yes, it all depends on the glass and if it has been stripped or if there has been seat belt damage, some new windows are not perfectly smooth and there are little air pockets.
Q. I have some little 0.5 to 4 cm lines in my rear window tint.
A. This normally happens as part of the shrinking process, it is more common on large back windows or if the window has a big curve at the edge of the glass (e.g. Camry, Mustangs, 300C etc and some hatch backs) sorry not much we can do about this.
Q. how long does it take to tint a car?
A. Approximately 3-6 hours.
Q. How long does it take to strip a car?
A. 3-6 hours normally, but I have had some that have taken all day.
Q. I have different colours in my tint.
A. This is common, allow 30 days in summer and 60 days in winter for them to disappear. It is just the drying process.
Q. The tint does not go all the way to the edge.
A. This depends on the car and the rubber seals. Some windows move 5 to 10 mm when they are open and when they close the rubber seals can sometimes peel the tint off. We normally leave 1 – 3 mm space and a bit more around the corners.
Q. Will my radio still work?
A. Yes, because we do not use metallic tints. But saying that, please double check where your computer and radio remote aerials are for your car and tell us where they are located. 80% of the time they are under the bonnet but in 300C, BMW and Mercedes etc, they could be at the back of the car. We ask this because we use water to apply the tint and we always take care, but we can’t take responsibility if you don’t tell us.
Q. Stripping back windows with demister bars.
A. They are the hardest to do, we do take our time but cannot guarantee the demister bars will not come off with the glue or tint.
Q. Is there a re-booking fee if I cancel?
A. Yes, if you are a Groupon customer that does not give a week’s notice so we can book someone else in.
Q. Paint Protection Warranty
A. Please send an email with your car rego, car photos front and sides, car type, VIN number, and full name and address to vip@vipcarcare.com.au.
